    Starting at Bestrong was initially intimidating for me, especially since I had no experience with a barbell. However, two key principles stood out right away. First, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. The coaches guide you through warm-ups and movements during each class, ensuring you have proper form and use an appropriate weight. Second, Coach Drew creates an environment of encouragement and support. After every class, members high-five and congratulate each other for finishing the workout. One class in particular stands out: I was in round 3 of a workout that included the floor press and I reached failure, unable to lift the weight. Before I could feel embarrassed, Coach Drew and another member paused their own workouts to help adjust the weight so I could continue. That moment made me realize this was the kind of gym I wanted to be a part of—where members lift each other up and motivate one another to keep pushing forward.

    I joined Be Strong because I wanted to try out CrossFit. Being a new mom and trying something new scared me. I thought I wasn't good enough to do it because of my weight and not being athletic but to this day I can still say it's been one of the best decisions I have made since becoming a new mom. The coaches and members are a great community that have helped me enjoy working out and grow in my fitness journey. It's such a positive and comfortable environment that I would recommend to everyone. I joined for the CrossFit but I stayed for the community.

    I joined Be Strong at a pivotal time in my life as a newly postpartum mom. I reluctantly agreed to a free-week trial to appease my husband who had already been a member for a year at the time and was raving about the progress he was seeing. I just knew CrossFit was not my thing and that I was totally going to hate it. Surprise! I am going on three years of membership now and Be Strong has truly changed my life. My approach to fitness went from something I hated and avoided at all costs to being a daily habit that I now enjoy and look forward to. I am forever grateful to the Be Strong coaching staff for the ways they supported me as a new mom and encouraged our family to make fitness an integral part of our lives. Our daughters are growing up with a front row seat to watching their parents actively strive towards healthy lives and that's the greatest gift that Be Strong has given us.

    I joined Be Strong before my husband, Jordan. As soon as I walked through those doors I knew this was the place for me. Not long after that, Jordan joined. I loved the fact that we were able to workout together as well as on our own. We liked the different class times that were offered. I'd say the biggest reason why we have stayed is the people. The gym has brought us old and new friendships. It has the best equipment and of course, great coaches. It also has the cutest puppies that our daughter loves. Be Strong has helped us continue to live a healthy lifestyle and show our daughter that excercise is fun.

    What an amazing gym! I am a level 1 coach that dropped in for the week since I was visiting Bloomington for the week. What initially interested me was the level 3 coaches. I wanted to see and compare differences. What I saw made me want to attend every day. The coaches all had fun and take the workout seriously by having it memorized. They never once looked at the screen behind them. This allowed them to concentrate on the athletes and help them improve technique. You could tell they had fun but remained focus on leading us through challenging workouts.

    Additionally, Drew has set up the gym to allow the community to workout together. Some workouts, we faced each other. Some were along side each other. The athletes pushed each other. And we laughed together. And we razzed the coaches every once in a while. They handled it and laughed with us.

    Finally, Drew really cares about the athletes and wants them to excel to the best of their ability. He ensures that no one gets hurt by focusing on the movement and scaling it as needed while maintaining the goal. He makes you fee on top of the world that you can do anything because of his inspirational demeanor. You leave not wanting to let him down. I hope I can bring so much of this back with me to our gym. I made friends at Be String that will be friends for life.
